Silkscreen is a print medium that is perfect for the home studio. It doesn’t require a press or a lot of expensive equipment. It can be both graphic and painterly. In this class we will explore a variety of ways to print one-of-a-kind silk screen images on paper. You will experiment with water soluble crayons, water-based inks, and non-toxic materials like drawing fluid and screen filler. A variety of premade screens provided in class can contribute to images that might be finished as prints or you might decide to add to them with other media. This class is designed for artists or artisans who are comfortable with the unexpected and want to add silkscreen to their vocabulary.
