Bring your subjects to life in acrylic with portraits that combine technical accuracy and personal expression. In this course, you’ll learn how to block in the head, build light and dark masses, and troubleshoot likenesses to create compelling, character-rich paintings.

Working from live models and your own sketches or photographs, you’ll explore strategies for strong composition, confident brushwork, and the subtle details that make a portrait sing. Along the way, you’ll refine your understanding of proportion, form, and color while developing your own distinctive style.
